“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord.” Rom 12:11 NIV

At the heart of discipleship lies a profound and transformative truth that shapes our entire spiritual journey: it's fundamentally about relationship. The foundation of our faith journey isn't constructed upon a framework of rules or built on the bedrock of religious obligations, but rather emerges from a deep, intimate, and personal connection with God. As we embark together on this devotional journey, let's explore the rich and meaningful dimensions of what it truly means to seek God with our whole heart, mind, and soul.

Scripture illuminates this beautiful truth in 1 John 4:19, declaring that "We love Him because He first loved us." This simple yet profound statement sets the tone for authentic discipleship - it begins not with our striving, but with His divine initiative and our heartfelt response. When we truly grasp the depths of this transformative love, our entire perspective shifts: our obedience naturally transforms from a burdensome duty into a heartfelt desire, from a reluctant "have to" into an enthusiastic "want to." This remarkable transformation lies at the core of genuine discipleship.

Drawing from the powerful imagery in Psalm 42:1, where the psalmist compares our spiritual longing to a deer panting desperately for water, we recognise that our souls were intentionally designed to thirst for God's presence. Through this devotional we want to explore how we can drink deeply and satisfyingly from the eternal fountain of life, discovering true and lasting satisfaction in God's transformative presence.

As we begin this meaningful journey together, let us hold fast to this essential truth: discipleship isn't about achieving perfection - it's about maintaining a passionate pursuit. It's about cultivating and nurturing a deep, authentic love relationship with Jesus that gradually but powerfully transforms every aspect of our lives, from our innermost thoughts to our daily actions and interactions with others.

 PRAYER MEETINGS

Throughout our Fast, let’s join together to Seek God Passionately.

TIMES TBC

 Suggestions for Fasting

Fasting is a powerful practice. When we take the initiative to fast and pray, we practice biblical values that Jesus first modeled for us.
Fasting is an act of self-denial for the sake of spiritual focus.

Join us:

- Fasting a meal or two a day.

- Turn down technology/media and turn up prayer and time in the Word.

-  Use our guide to pray each day and seek God for 21 days

- Pray in community, in person or online.

We advise you to personally seek the Lord and ask Him what you should do during this fast and we encourage all who are able, to truly give God their best. We also advise you to seek a physician’s advice before you approach any type of fasting. Certain individuals may need to limit how they fast because of their physical condition, illness, age or energy needs.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matt 6.33
